Thomas R. Weakland serves as Senior Vice President and acting Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Weakland provides financial management to Ginnie Mae’s program including; preparation and administrative control of the budget, accounting systems, internal controls and auditing procedures, as well as the provision of cash management and investment services. In addition, he directs contract assessment reviews in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, and controls Ginnie Mae’s reserves and supporting programs.
Mr. Weakland has worked for Ginnie Mae for more than 30 years and has held several positions including Senior Vice President, Office of Securities Operations; System Accountant; Budget Officer; Director of the Office of Financial Management; Senior Vice President, Office of Program Operations and Acting Executive Vice President.
Mr. Weakland is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Weakland holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.
