Orientation & Beyond 

Once you receive your final firm offer, you will be notified of your start date, as well as the date, time, and location of orientation.  

Your first step towards your new career is getting prepared for Day One. Here's how:

  • Make sure to provide all of the information requested by your HR Representative in the requested time frame.

  • Make sure to complete the required Entrance on Duty forms and bring them with you to orientation.

  • Consider your benefit program enrollment options carefully, and make informed decisions that will provide optimal value for you and your family. Bring any questions to orientation.

  • Take the time to browse this website to learn about your new workplace.

  • If you need special accommodations for orientation, such as escorts, documents in Braille, or hearing assistance devices, please contact the HR Representative identified on your letter as soon as possible.

Gather the items you will need for orientation:

  • Two forms of ID:

    • A photo ID, such as a U.S. passport or driver's license
    • A second form of identification, such as an original birth certification, voter's registration card, Social Security card, or other ID card issued by a federal, state or local government agency

Please Note:

  • As of September 30, 2010, certified Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to July 1, 2010 will be invalid and unacceptable for Form I-9 purposes. 

  • Be sure to check that both forms of ID are unexpired. It is HUD policy that Federal employee badges will not be accepted as ID at the initial ID proofing. 

  • If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen (not a U.S. citizen at birth), please bring an original Certificate of U.S. Naturalization (Form N-550 or N-570).

  • If you are a U.S. citizen at birth, but were born abroad, please bring a Certificate of Birth Abroad (Form FS-545).
